I have not made any arrangements for Indoor Flying this year, primarily because of the Covid-19 rebound situation. With regional hospitals filling up and being overwhelmed with sick people, it does not seem to be a good idea at this time. Additionally, my wife is recovering from a broken ankle and resultant infection etc. This has sucked away a lot of my spare time in taking care of her needs. I certainly want to continue with Indoor Flying for next year if the Covid-19 situation is better.
I have no problem if others want to make arrangements for indoor flying; however, I suspect (but I could be wrong) that turnout might be a bit low this season. My past experience at the Sports Hub is that the best turnouts are on weekend days/evenings, when non-retired folks can also attend. Historically, weekend time-slots can be difficult or sometimes impossible to get; however, weekday time-slots proved easier to get, but the turnout was generally lower. Although a minimum attendance number has never been specifically stated, you would probably want at least 10 attendees for a weekend time-slot and at least 6 attendees on a mid-day weekday time-slot so that the Sports Hub (or a similar arrangement elsewhere) could make enough money to cover their cost (at what was 10 dollars per pilot). The folks at the Sports Hub cared less about making money in the middle of a weekday because they needed to have an employee man the place anyways, whereas on weekend evenings they would normally close early and send any employee(s) home if there was not an event that was at least paying for itself.
