Frozen Finger Fun Fly 2026
A very nice breakfast was had at the Harvester Cafe in Spangle on New Year's Day. Afterwards about nine of us went to the Paradise field and flew for several hours. The temperature was about 27F. There was little to no wind, the sky was overcast, the ground was frozen and the runway clear of snow. With the right clothing, it was a nice day of flying.

The lock on the field won’t lock

There is an old lock on the chain in addition to the one we use. So there is confusion at times about which to use. (Sometime we'll have to get a portable grinder tool out there that can cut through its hardened steel). In the mean time David Duhaime said he will 'magic marker' the old lock to indicate it isn't the one to use.
3/4” impact driver
The tie down anchors are going to be hard to install. I welded a lug nut on the end and got part way into the ground with my 1/2” driver before it stalled out. I think a 3/4” will work.
Does anyone have one?

If noone has a 3/4 impact driver I think one can be rented at Ato Z rental, or a home depot tool rental.

Starting the flying season, April 11, Saturday flatten the runaway day, Memorial Day glider competition and Labor day competition at Faragut. Ground preparations were discussed. Show and Tell, Don and his new airplane, Tom and his special prop planes, David and his 2 new planes. Robin led the meeting well as always. Condtact Ed or David for more information.
