Last night was fun! There was one of the NEW X-VERT VTOLs flying and an number of other interesting models. At one point 7 planes were in the air and no mid-airs. The new 20 minute schedule is perfect. Thanks to Anne for making this happen.
We had about 13 pilots tonight. They all seemed to enjoy themselves with 20 minute rounds alternating with rotors and fixed wings. Only one plane on plane collision but a lot of tricks, new and old aircraft, and spectators. It was a quiet environment as pickleball isn’t a very rowdy sport. Don’t forget to come out November 11! Picture will be posted soon to our Instagram, which means they…Read More

I am planning on attending the HUB INDOOR FLY this coming Sunday from 5pm to 8pm. The HUB dates Ann posted “for indoor flying: Oct. 15, Nov. 11, Dec. 2, Jan. 6, Feb. 3, Mar. 10”. Hope to see many of you.
The shed looks like it’s been packed by professionals…that being said, it needs a lot of work. Curt, I know you were talking about shelving, Curtis, you were talking about creating a road and fixing the porta potty. We all agreed that there needed to be one more work party this year, so let’s get organized about it! When should it be? We are running out of decent weekends. We will be…Read More
NEFI 2017 is in the books! Thank you to all those that helped set up and tear down! (Rod, Larry, Lee, Dave, Don, Hassan, etc.) We had a great weekend, despite the wind on Saturday! We had about 18 pilots, and yes, we flew on Saturday with very few incidents. Sunday was much, much better and saw a lot more flying and more spectators.
Next year, we need to have a beefy first aide kit on…Read More
Please show up this afternoon (1pm-6pm) for NEFI SET-UP!
NEFI will happen this weekend despite a rather knarly wind forecast for Saturday. I am hoping that the weather people are overzealous in their pronouncements 😉 but plan for challenging conditions tomorrow.
Sunday will be calmer, and should be a great day for flying.
Vehicle situation at my house sucks right now, so I may not be able to get to the field for the Thursday evening work party/club meeting. If I’m not there can someone take notes and forward to me for posting?
I will be at the field Friday for setup. More than likely early. Around 10am ish. If the weed whacking hasn’t been done around the port-a-potty and storage container, I will take…Read More
I hope we already canceled Shari’s for Thursday and it wouldn’t make any sense to drive from one side of Spokane to the other for a lot of folks. I think we go with the plan of having the meeting at the field around 5:30 or 6 and we work before and after/during it. Not sure I’ll make it before dark, but I’ll come early Saturday morning to help, too.
The Porta-Potie will be serviced this Thursday before the event.
We have a work day scheduled at Field for Thursday 5th instead of Sharis, but it is awfully dark out there at 7pm. Maybe work 4pm to 6pm then head to Sharis for dinner/meeting? I went wild with the drag leveler last Thursday and knocked down weeds all around the strip so we mainly need dirt smoothing, runway sweeping, staple tapping/pulling, and one last mowing. We need trimmer work at…Read More
NEFI Saturday! We need the following:
1. Generator and charger out of the competition trailer
2. Help for Setup Friday at 1:00pm and Saturday at 7am
3. Volunteers for demonstrations (3D, ALES, FPV, Pattern?)
4. Help for breakdown Sunday at 3-6pm
5. Flyers and Spectators! Invite friends!
6. A propane BBQ for “Open Grill” Saturday
Let me know if you can help with those items
I will be out at the field on Thursday at 5pm to weed spray and possibly spread weed-n-feed. I will bring my portable sprayer, some leftover weed killer and 6 gallons of water. If anyone can join me that would be great! Weather looks good for a little flying as well 😉 Larry Johnson
Here are the dates for indoor flying: Oct. 15, Nov. 11, Dec. 2, Jan. 6, Feb. 3, Mar. 10. I tried to get April or another mid-month date, but these are what works for the HUB, too. They are all Saturdays and Sundays. We’d be holding it from 5pm – 8pm. I think that’s a good idea for us if the weather is bad; folks don’t have to feel rushed after work and they have time to get home in the evenings.
NEFI airplane and kit donations accepted now!
NEFI Oct 7 & 8, 9am-4pm! Added Night Flying on Sat & Dawn Patrol on Sun!
Does anyone have access to 3-4 of the feather or swooper tall flags?
I am planning to set up a separate quad/heli zone…. any input?
Field is looking better, a rainy day will help 🙂

Thank you Lee, Dave S., Larry, and Brett for coming to the field to work. It’s looking great since Larry did some dragging after we pulled a bunch of weeds.
