IEQF participates in the F3J and HLG contests organized through the Northwest Soaring Society.  NWSS contests are regularly held in the summer months, with some special events held throughout the year.

IEQF hosts the Labor Day and a Memorial Day thermal soaring contest, as well as NEFI- The Northwest Electric Fly-In.
